Radiate Balance: Chakra Jewellery for the Mind, Body & Soul

Chakras (meaning wheel in Sanskrit) are energy centres in the body used in a variety of ancient meditation practices, and are believed to be important for our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

What Are The Seven Chakras?

There are 7 main chakras, aligned along the spine, from the crown of the head to the base of the spine, and each one is associated with a colour, element, and aspect of the consciousness.

  1. Crown Chakra (Clear or Purple) - Located at the top of the head, associated with connection to higher consciousness, spirituality, and enlightenment

  2. Third Eye Chakra - Located between the eyebrows, associated with intuition, insight, and spiritual awareness

  3. Throat Chakra (Blue) - Located at the throat, associated with communication, self-expression, and truth

  4. Heart Chakra (Green) - Located in the center of the chest, associated with love, compassion, and emotional balance

  5. 5. Solar Plexus Chakra (Yellow) - Located in the upper abdomen, associated with personal power, confidence, and self-esteem

  6. 6. Sacral Chakra (Orange) - Located in the lower abdomen, associated with creativity, passion, and emotional well-being

  7. 7. Root Chakra (Red) - Located at the base of the spine, associated with stability, security, and grounding.

How Do The Chakras Relate to Jewellery?

Due to the association with the colour and meta-physical properties of gemstones, chakra jewellery is valued for its ability to raise awareness and subsequently help align and balance the energy  centres, promoting physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

Pieces of jewellery can be designed using the colours of all 7 chakras or specific gemstones corresponding to the individual chakras, allowing wearers to harness the unique properties of each stone.

Gemstones associated with chakras include:

  • Clear quartz or amethyst reflecting the clear or purple colours associated with the Crown chakra,

  • Indigo stones like lapis lazuli or sodalite often represent the Third Eye chakra,

  • Turquoise, aquamarine, amazonite and other blue stones are connected with the Throat chakra,

  • Green or pink stones like rose quartz or green aventurine are associated with the Heart chakra,

  • Yellow stones like citrine or tigers eye are chosen for the Solar Plexus chakra,

  • Orange stones like carnelian or peach moonstone are paired with the Sacral chakra, and finally,

  • Garnet, red jasper, smoky quartz and other red, brown and black stones are used for the Root chakra

Together, these gemstones create a harmonious synergy within the body, fostering holistic well-being and spiritual growth.

Why Should I Wear Chakra Jewellery?

Whether worn for meditation, yoga, or everyday life, chakra jewellery serves as a physical reminder to look after one's inner self and foster healing and growth. Even if you do not believe in the meta physical properties of gemstones, with the array of colour, this style of jewellery can't help but lift your spirits and make you feel good. Which, let's face it, is what wearing jewellery is all about, making us feel good about ourselves.

Take a look at the chakra jewellery on my website. I have a range of jewellery which combines all the colours of the chakras, and pieces which harness the qualities of individual colours and gemstones. Please get in touch if you would like a particular colour or gemstone and you do not see it on the website. I am always happy to help!
